Please join us in celebrating the graduation of the female participants of the Union Pre‑Apprenticeship Construction Training (U‑PACT) program at CCCF.

This innovative program prepares Adults in Custody (AICs) for direct entry into registered apprenticeship programs through hands‑on and classroom instruction held inside Oregon’s correctional facilities. Over 11 weeks, participants trained across three skilled construction trades, receiving industry‑led instruction, earning certifications and safety training, and gaining access to the materials and support needed for success. Graduates leave the program with a direct pathway into union apprenticeship and ongoing supportive services.

U‑PACT is a collaboration between the Oregon Department of Corrections, Ironworkers Local 29, Cement Masons Local 555, and the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1.

We’re excited to invite you to the 75th Anniversary Celebration of South Fork Forest Camp (SFFC)—a milestone event honoring decades of partnership, service, and community impact.

Event Date: October 29, 2026
Location: South Fork Forest Camp

Event Schedule:
• 10:00–11:00 AM: Guest arrival and parking
• 11:00 AM–12:00 PM: Anniversary Ceremony
• 12:00–2:00 PM: Refreshments and networking, AIC‑facilitated education booths, and staff‑led tours

The celebration will feature remarks from DOC and ODF executives, legislators and senators, and former SFFC AICs. Guests will also enjoy a special SFFC 75th Anniversary Highlight Video.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate the contributions of South Fork Forest Camp throughout its 75‑year history. If you would like to attend, please reach out to Harvey Mathews here.

Come observe the female participants from CCCF operating heavy equipment as they showcase their skills and complete their field testing to become certified heavy equipment operators. This is the capstone event of their heavy equipment operator and civil construction training provided through a partnership with Baker Technical Institute and DOC, also known as the Big Machines - Big Opportunities program.

You are invited to celebrate the graduation of the female participants of the Big Machines - Big Opportunities program at CCCF. This program certifies the selected participants to operate heavy equipment and also provides them with other safety and industry related certifications, making them highly employable in many sectors including civil construction, wildland fire, transportation, and more.

We would like to invite you to take a tour of Oregon State Penitentiary (OSP) on Friday, December 4th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. 

This tour promises to be memorable, with inside views into Oregon’s only multi-custody institution that incorporates a maximum-security area. OSP has been in operation on its current 194-acre campus in the heart of Salem since 1866. Much of the building was added to in the early 1930’s, about the same time that Alcatraz was built. As we tour inside OSP’s 25-foot walls, we will visit housing units, job training areas, classrooms, mental health units, outside recreational yards, the cafeteria, and the infirmary. You’ll get to hear from both staff and adults in custody about their experiences and learn a few facts about OSP’s rich history.

It’s a particularly interesting time to visit OSP, with the Oregon Legislature recently funding a study to determine if DOC should consider renovating or building a new facility to accommodate the needs of its 1,800 adults in custody and 500 DOC staff.
